There's a new number floating around, I guess since last night, when HO went live in prime time to try ramming health care down the throats of the American people.
I do have to admit, I'm not the most patient citizen, so I don't listen to everything from the mouths of politicians...hell, I hardly listen to anything. I assume, rightly so, most of the time, that when their lips are moving, they're lying. But then I usually find it on line, or hear it on the radio news, and don't misunderstand me when I say radio news, because I don't cut them any slack either. Let's say I figure that 14,000 figure came from the same place all the homeless come from, when the Republicans are in the White House. It comes from the same place that Georgia congressman, John Lewis, I think...anyway, he said the number of slaves thrown over was so high, that if it were true, and considering the number of slaves possible on one of the ships of the day, they would still be being delivered. He said there were so many, the sharks still circle the route, looking for food. Maybe he should go skinny-dipping.
The 14,000 probably comes from the same place that the 40,000,000 uninsured comes from. It doesn't matter that that figure has been debunked and proven bogus, to a dem, it's gospel.
While I'm ranting, I want to thank Senator John Thune, R-South Dakota, for his bill to let licensed concealed carry permitees to carry in any state. That's how it should be, anyway. I heard the reason he introduced his amendment was to thwart an amendment already added...the hate crimes bill.
And, another thing. Going on to the energy bill. I'm hearing less of that the last couple of days, but everything I hear, whether it's a commercial touting some world saving device, like a Prius, or a wind turbine, I'm reminded that I bet T. Boone has a few turbines he'll sell cheap.
One more thing on health care. If we could get the damned lawyers out of the back pockets of the doctors, that would go a long way in helping get costs under control.
