All this talk about health care, and none about Tort reform...
"After weeks of secretive talks, three Democrats and three Republicans on the Senate Finance Committee were edging closer to a compromise that excludes a requirement many congressional Democrats seek for large businesses to offer coverage to their workers. Nor would there be a provision for a government insurance option, despite Obama's support for such a plan, officials said.
The Finance senators were considering a tax of as much as 35 percent on very high-cost insurance policies, part of an attempt to rein in rapid escalation of costs."
These two paragraphs were in an article today from the AP on cnsnews.com. Six people--three asses, and three elephants-- so-called law makers, setting up a health care plan for the other 300 million of us.
Folks. If we are able to survive till the elections in 2010, we sure as hell better make changes in every office possible. We had better send people there (DC) who will uphold the Constitution, and support free enterprise. Otherwise, "the land of the free, and the home of the brave" is going to fade rapidly. In fact, it's fading as I write.
Even in my hometown, the police can't do their jobs without being second-guessed by the local politicians, the media(national and international)and, of course, the black majority. It's just like HO and the Gates case in Cambridge. Gates is black, so therefore, it was racism, and the cops were stupid...I went online to check on a recent case here, but all I could find was stuff on Troy Anthony Davis, aka RAH (Rough As Hell), convicted 20 years ago of killing off duty policeman Mark MacPhail in cold blood. They had witnesses, the gun, the spent casings, and he had killed someone else earlier that day with the same gun. He's been through 20 years of appeals, including the Supreme Court, and and he's still not been put to sleep. Had they let him go 20 years ago, they could have saved us time and money, plus his brudders in the hood, would have taken him out long ago.
Glen Beck had a great parody on his show this morning...it'll probably get to be that bad...where the 911 operator will have to ask the color of the perp...before deciding whether to send help, or not...
We better start helping ourselves. And the best way to do that, is by sending better people, if we can find them, to Washington.
We better vote for real change.
