Obama or Holder

I found myself about to argue with Jonah Goldberg over his view of the trials in NYC. You know which trials. The civilian circus about to be thrust upon us like some new season of a new reality show. Don't know about you, but I've never watched a reality show, and when a commercial comes on promoting one, I change channels as fast as I can find a remote. I'd even get up and go to the TV to change. I really hate the things, and can't see why anyone would ever watch one.

The point I was going to argue is simple. It sounds like Mr. Goldberg has no problem with trying KSM in a civilian court, as long as we're not at war. I totally disagree with that position. But who am I to disagree with Jonah? Well. I'm, me. And I'm okay with disagreeing. BUT, that being said, I finished Dave Eberhart's column on Newsmax.com, where he was quoting some of Mr. Goldberg's comments to Newsmax.TV's Kathleen Walter. It was such a great article, I brought a link over here. I hope you take time to read it, if you haven't already.

There are some good points, but I still will never agree to a civilian trial for anyone who attacked us in such a cowardly way. They were non-combatants, whatever that means...I guess out of uniform and/or country. Khalid Sheikh Muhammed has already confessed, and wants the death penalty, so he can meet his 72 Virginians. Personally, I think they should accommodate him. Who cares if it makes him a martyr? Certainly not I. It will absolutely make him dead, and save us a bunch of money.

In case you don't have time to read the entire article, I've copied the quote that set me off here:
Conservative syndicated columnist Jonah Goldberg tells Newsmax.TV that sending Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his cohorts to a civilian trial in New York is a travesty on many levels.

“This sort of decision is kind of a piƱata,” Goldberg told Newsmax.TV’s Kathleen Walter. “You can bash it from any angle and get a reward. I think the fundamental problem with it -- from which everything else flows -- is that there is no way to get around the fact that it is a decision that you would make -- if you didn’t think we were at war.”

Changing the subject. I hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We traveled, so this may be a better, or worse, post for it. I've been away from the computer. I usually come here thinking about writing on one subject, forget it and launch off onto something I just read or heard about. At least, this one is one track.

Check out the link below, and remember, 2010 can't come too soon.
