Cyber-czar? How bizarre!

Internet czar? I'm pretty sure the government has had very little to do with the internet--well, since ALgore invented it, that is. Since then, seems it's been developed by private enterprises...in private business, and guess what? They've done a pretty damn good job. And, how will the feds be able to pay someone enough to take that job? What am I saying!? Politicians scrimp and save to be able to run for office, get to DC, and soon become multi-millionaires. So, I guess money wouldn't be a problem...they are the government.

I was just thinking that the smartest minds would want to be in the private sector, where they would have more freedom to create and earn. I wouldn't think they would be happy under the thumb of some bureaucrat, showing up a 9:00am and wearing ties to work, or whatever the dress code is for the fairer gender. BTW, can we still recognize genders? The remaining computer geniuses would still be in their parents basements, hacking into computers and creating havoc. I guess that's who the czar will protect us against.

But the bigger question is who will protect us from the Supreme Court? If Sotomayor is confirmed, and it's looking more and more as though that will happen, we'll be in worse shape than when Souter was still there. At least he had a simblance of brain and a shred of integrity, (maybe I'm being too charitable), but the broad is like Biden in drag. Nothing she says makes sense, when held to the 'light of law'. But back to her confirmation...

Our current crop of so-called Republicans is for the most part, spineless. They've forgotten the treatment of Clarence Thomas, Robert Bork, Gonzales, Estrada, etc. ad infinitum. They'll bend over backwards to be nice to that bunch of hoodlums across the aisle, or maybe they'll just bend over and grab their ankles. At any rate, they will do everything they can not to rock the boat...they just want to keep going back to Washington. They want to keep their seniority, their little committee seats and chairs... well, I've got news for them. No more freaking incumbents! Don't vote for one. Even if there's no opposition.

Eventually, if they get few enough votes, someone will run against them, and we'll have a chance to vote them into retirement. And what a retirement. How would you like to retire the way they do?

Back to the czar. I use McAfee right now, and it's free to me. I wonder what the feds will be charging for their security package. You know it won't be free. And think about this. They will have unfettered access to our cyber-lives...which will cover pretty much everything.

Think about it.

President Buchanan

President Buchanan. Maybe it's time for another President Buchanan. I've been reading his posts on HumanEvents.com, and find very little to disagree with...if anything.

I've been saying for years that I'm a conservative, but I'm no 'compassionate conservative'. I'm a mad as hell conservative. And by that I mean, I'm looking for someone to stand up for our Constitution. It's the greatest document ever created, by some of the brightest minds to come our way, and after more than 200 years, I'm amazed at how current it remains. And today I'm hearing talk about Sotomayor, and how HO picked her because he's looking for someone to take ethnicity, color, race, and sex into consideration when reviewing cases of law...cases that should be looked at on the basis of the law as it relates to the Constitution, not to how someone's background or environment made them do whatever brought them to trial. Just because she was originally picked by Bush One, is no excuse to approve her. Look at the times she's been overturned already. She's not a judge, she's an activist.

I will be writing my representatives again, and again, letting them know my views on this matter, as well as others. It is becoming more and more imperative that "we the people" remind "them, the government" whose in charge. If we don't, and we let them continue on the path they seem determined to take, we're going to lose the few remaining freedoms we have, and soon we won't be able to afford those.

Back to Patrick J. In his article, he praises Dick Cheney for his stand on his and Bush's administration and his view of HO's attempt at national security. I know Buchanan ran for our highest office before, and I forget right now how he did, but as I look around, who better to carry the conservative banner? Actually, I looked it up, and he's run three times, once getting the nomination for the Reform Party. I'm not too happy about that, but still, I could vote for him. He was always headed in the Right direction. When the other Buchanan was in office, seven southern states succeeded from the Union. You've probably heard lately, where some of the states are beginning to assert their state's rights. Definitely something to think about.

I mentioned 'compassionate conservatism' earlier. Glenn Beck interviewed Rush Limbaugh, I think on Beck's TV show, and they discussed compassionate conservatism. It was their opinion that it, in Glen's words, "must die a violent death". I agree wholeheartedly. If we want to continue as a Republic, under our Constitution, compassionate conservatism has to go. And in order for that to happen, "we the people" are going to have to send new representatives to DC--representatives who will stand up and defend the Constitution. I believe that is in their swearing-in ceremony.

Let's help them out by replacing compassion with brains and guts.

Vote 'em out.

Thanks, Veterans.

Here it is Memorial Day weekend, and it's finally stopped raining for a while. We really needed the rain, though. We should be okay for a few days. I hope all this rain helped Florida's drought conditions.

I was just directed to a site by a friend, for reasons other than Memorial Day. When I reached the site, (theshootist.net) I read what he sent me there for, and then went to the current blog. It was all about Memorial Day. I am such a sucker for patriotism. Gordon Hutchinson, the blogger and author of several books, The Great New Orleans Gun Grab, for one, apparently wrote his blog a few years ago, after a visit to Washington, DC. Regardless, it read as though he had just come back. If you get a chance, check him out.

As for me, I would like to thank all you veterans, including my Dad and a bunch of uncles and at least one aunt, and several friends, for giving me the freedom to sit here and write whatever I wish, and to be able to send it out into the nether regions of the blogosphere. It occurs to me that my having to say that is a little disturbing. I say that because more and more of our freedoms seem to be disappearing. Things I'm used to taking for granted...like speech and thought. If I'm not mistaken, they're coming after those, too.

And the people I once thought we could depend on to protect those freedoms, are becoming more and more scarce...or maybe scared. I had just recently changed my assessment of former Speaker of the House Gingrich. Then I heard him saying Colin Powell is still welcome in the Republican party.

Newt says the Republicans have to have a large tent, in order to be able to save itself. There must be room for fighting. Well, I agree. There must be room for fighting. But we don't need to be fighting among ourselves. We need to be fighting the leftwing democrats. Colin Powell has never been a conservative, never will be, and he should be sent out with Specter, along with all the other RINOs.

Republicans shouldn't be worried about what the dems call themselves. If we think they're socialists, call them socialists. If the freaking shoe fits, wear it. And now, the socialist have given us a new credit card bill of rights. Guess what...we've been screwed again. And I've just read where some of the European banks may stop dealing in US paper, because HO wants them to collect taxes for him. They're thinking not.

And I was reading a Cspan interveiw with HO, in which it seemed to me, he was blaming our current crisis on our health care system. Huh? He said if we don't fix health care, (turn it over to the government), it's going to get even worse. It's already worse. We turned it over to him! And besides, where do the Canadians and Europeans go for exceptional health care? Why they take some of their hard earned money and visit the good old USA.

Please, don't vote for an incumbent...especially, HO.

Later,
and enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend.
what's left of it.

Gingrich, Pelosi and Toddy Cats

Thank you Mr. Gingrich. For two things. One---thank you for pointing out that Pelosi did lie. And, thank you for calling it a lie...not a mis-speak. That is such a load of crap when someone lies and then says "Oh, I'm sorry. I mis-spoke". And thank you for a third thing...demanding that Pelosi resign. She has to resign, because she set a precedent with Alberto Gonzales, when he was Attorney General. What are the odds she'll follow her own dictates?

I must admit, I was hughly disappointed with Gingrich when he did the 'green' commercial with queenie Pelosi. I thought he had gone over to the dark side. I have since seen him discuss that, and I'm feeling better about him again. Except for a few things, the treatment of his bride primarily, I support Mr. Gingrich wholeheartedly. And besides, that episode with his wife would be a feather in his cap were he a democrat. Regardless, I still view him as one of the smartest political figures out there, if not the smartest. I'm thinking Gingrich/Palin or Romney/Palin or Jindal/Palin in 2012.

And, it would not hurt my feelings if Palin lead either of those combination tickets. I voted for her last time...certainly not McCain. Think about this. Palin is a better speaker without a prompter than HO is with one. As we all know, without a prompter, HO can barely get his name out there...duh.

I wonder what Sarah would do with a program like the "No Child Left Inside Act". It's just another way for the government to get their paws on our kids at an even earlier date...kindergarten. "Oh, but we'll only be teaching them responsibility toward nature and its inhabitants," they'll say. Bull crap. She wouldn't fall for that. She'd shoot it down.

According to an article on CNSNews.com, the dems introduced the bill in a little play on the grounds of the Upper Russell Senate Park on Capitol Hill. They even trotted out some "wildlife" for the event. They had a cheetah, an Asian Toddy Cat, an armadillo, and a dog? on hand. Wonder how many of the little kiddies in DC haven't seen a dog?...four legged variety, that is. Howard McKeon, (Rep. CA.) of all places, told CNSNews.com that “We need to proceed carefully with any bill that expands federal intrusion into our schools, whether it’s environmental education or school construction.” This bill would spend $500 million over a five year period, in schools with an approved "environmental literacy" plan in place. Sounds like an agenda to me.

Fact is, we need to get the feds out of education. Seems to me, the education system in this country has pretty much tanked since 1964. Back to my famous coffee shop. My friend had an employee a year or so ago. She was a math teacher, and could not figure the price of some chocolate covered espresso beans that sold by the quarter-pound. Someone wanted an eighth of a pound, and she had no clue. Maybe that's just here in GA.

I know there's a double standard when it comes to politicians. One for the dems, and one for us. And of course, the drive-by media backs the dems and pushes their agenda. But, maybe if Pelosi doesn't resign, her constituents will vote her out. Of course, I say that with tongue planted firmly in the ol' cheek. Who am I kidding?

Send a politician home. They should have to live by the same laws we live by. They can only do that at home.

Did Pelosi lie? Were her lips moving?

I was listening to Glenn Beck today, and the topic at that time was the California bailout! California bailout? He was talking about it being taxation without representation, if our tax dollars are used to bail them out of a hole they dug for themselves, and keep digging deeper every day. If they need a cash infusion, let'em visit their liberal buddies down in Hollywood...down in LA...or how about the queen? I was going to go on a rant about her travel expenses, but how about her lying about having no knowledge of waterboarding?

I'm glad to see the CIA isn't taking this lying down. I also see where one of the web news sites is calling for her resignation. Is there anyone out there who believes she would actually do that? Were she a conservative Republican, all the drive-bys would be calling for her to step down, and if history serves, she would do so with all kinds of apologies.

Personally, I'm getting tired of Republicans (should that be a big r?) being such wussies. We really need to get over this 'compassionate-conservatism' garbage. Look where it's got us. It's almost as bad as political correctness.

This new hate crimes legislation is just the icing on the cake for the pc police. Pretty soon, every thought, act, desire or look, will be subject to arrest and confinement. At my favorite coffee shop, the regulars are always looking around to check out the audience before saying some things too loudly...except me. I forget to look, but so far, no one has called me on a pc faux pas. The owner of the shop gets a little excited on occasion, but so far, there haven't been any suits.

That reminds me. Before the election, he had a McCain-Palin poster on the back wall, where everyone coming in could see it. A few customers asked the owner if they could put up an BHO poster. He said they could, but not in his shop. There was one customer who decided to wait till the owner wasn't on duty to vent his rage over the poster.

On a Saturday morning he went off on the young female barista who told him he should take it up with the owner...6 feet, 6 inches and about 250 pounds. The customer told her he just wouldn't come back until the election was over. She, of course, told the owner, and he watched the tapes. The customer did come back a few weeks after the election, but the owner invited him to maintain his exile. Hey, that could be a hate crime, but the guy hasn't been back to complain.

I guess HO will be at Notre Dame this weekend. And later, he's going to Las Vegas to raise money for Dirty Harry Reid's re-election campaign. Let's help vote him out of Washington. Then, Pelosi and HO.

Save the Constitution--don't vote for an incumbent.

Cheap Tomatoes]

This is an email that was forwarded to me, and I'm not sure who wrote it. But it needs to be seen, read and passed on to as many people as possible.

So, I'm including it here in its entirety.

Enjoy, and pass on.

Harris.
-

-----

I think our friend Tom Green will enjoy these words of truth as much as I did! The message came from a California teacher through a Florida retiree who was my boss in the early 70s.

Cheap Tomatoes

THIS HAS GOT TO BE PASSED ALONG TO AS MANY AS POSSIBLE OR WE WILL ALL GO DOWN THE DRAIN BECAUSE A FEW DON'T CARE.

This English teacher has phrased it the best I've seen yet

Tomatoes and Cheap Labor

CHEAP TOMATOES?
This should make everyone think, be you Democrat, Republican or Independent

From a California school teacher - - -

"As you listen to the news about the student protests over illegal immigration, there are some things that you should be aware of:

I am in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at a large southern California high school which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socioeconomic and income levels.

Most of the schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell Gardens , Huntington Park , etc., where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools.

Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast and free lunch program. When I say free breakfast, I'm not talking a glass of milk and roll -- but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten. (

OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK )

I estimate that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have
cell phones. The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for babysitters or having family watch their kids. (OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK)
I was ordered to spend $700,000 on my department or risk losing funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything; my budget was already substantial. I ended up buying new computers for the computer learning center, half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America .
(OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK)

I have had to intervene several times for young and substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country less then 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them "Putas" whores and throwing things that the teachers were in tears.

Free medical, free education, free food, day care etc., etc., etc.
Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements ?

To those who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs.

Higher insurance, medical facilities closing, higher medical costs, more
crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new diseases etc., etc, etc. For me, I'll pay more for tomatoes.

We need to wake up.
The guest worker program will be a disaster because we won't have the guts to enforce it . Does anyone in their right mind really think they will voluntarily leave and return?

It does, however, have everything to do with culture: A third-world culture that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate , and an
American culture that has become so weak and worried about " political Correctness" that we don't have the will to do anything about it.

If this makes your
blood boil, as it did mine, forward this to everyone you know.

CHEAP LABOR? Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?

Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage.

Consumers don't want expensive produce.

Government will tell you Americans don't want the jobs.

But the bottom line is cheap labor. The phrase "cheap labor" is a
myth , a farce, and a lie. There is no such thing as "cheap labor."
Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children. He takes a job for $5.00 or 6.00/hour. At that wage, with six dependents,
he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return, he gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.
He qualifies for
Section 8 housing and subsidized rent.

He qualifies for
food stamps.
He qualifies for
free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care.
His
children get free breakfasts and lunches at school.

He
requires bilingual teachers and books.
He
qualifies for relief from high energy bills.
If
they are, or become, aged, blind or disabled, they qualify for SSI. Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare . All of this is at (our) taxpayer's expense .

He doesn't worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.

Taxpayers provide
Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material.
He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to $30.00/hour in
benefits.
Working Americans
are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour left after paying their bills and his.
The American taxpayers also pay for increased crime, graffiti and trash clean-up.

Cheap labor? YEAH RIGHT!
Wake up people!
THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS WE SHOULD BE ADDRESSING TO EITHER PARTY. 'AND WHEN THEY LIE TO US AND DON'T DO AS THEY SAY, WE SHOULD REPLACE THEM AT ONCE!'

THIS HAS GOT TO BE PASSED ALONG TO AS MANY AS POSSIBLE OR WE WILL ALL GO DOWN THE DRAIN BECAUSE A FEW DON'T CARE.

How Sweet It Is

So, Arlen defects, and the dems dump him...who would-a-thunk it. But it was music to my ears. And then Specter goes on to say how he 'misspoke'...how he usually said all the right things, but since he's traded teams, he'll have trouble getting his priorities straight. I guess that when he said he wanted Coleman to win over Franken, which he has done, btw, he forgot he had switched sides. Is that not typical for politicians. If they had any character, morals and beliefs, they wouldn't have to worry about keeping their stories straight. Glory be. Well, they didn't really dump him. They just stripped him of his power and seniority. That's just about as bad, as far as he's concerned.

Two places I went to today, I heard people saying that they were beginning to see evidence of voter's remorse. I haven't seen any myself. I've seen a lot of anger, angst and depression, maybe, but no remorse. The media is still dancing in the aisles, and the bliss of ignorance still has HObama's supporters following blindly through the fog of rhetoric and prompter nudges. Speaking of prompters, the press secretary could use one, too.

I just saw where a judge that's been mentioned as a Supreme Court nominee, shot down an appeal by Frank Ricci and company, on a reverse discrimination suit..."Ricci vs DeStefano". According to an article on CNSNews.com, "The case, Ricci v. DeStefano, involved a group of 19 white firefighters and one Hispanic firefighter who filed suit in 2003 claiming that the city of New Haven, Conn., engaged in racial discrimination when it threw out the results of two promotion tests because none of the city’s black applicants had passed the tests."

Apparently, a lower court ruled that since no one was promoted, there was no discrimination...go figure. No one was promoted because there was no black who passed the test. They always throw in the "or other minority", but they always mean black.

Speaking of other minorities, I just received an email about the cost of tomatoes. I don't know who wrote it, but if I can, I'm going to import it to this blog...otherwise, I'll just present it in another blog all by its lonesome. It's well worth reading, and it makes a lot of sense.

Going back to Specter, he should have been replaced years ago. I'll bet the dems send him packing. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see him switch back to the GOP. He does whatever is best for Specter...but to be sure, either way, he should be dumped, and not royally...just plain dumped.

Think about it. We shouldn't let 'em stay in Washington long enough to develop any power. As soon as we start re-cycling, and they learn they're not going back, and they're going to have to live by the same laws we live by, maybe they'll start doing a better job.

Remember, we send them up there, we can call 'em back.

Later.

100 Days and Crying

Well, we've survived the first 100 days of Hobama, and I hope we're able to survive the remainder of his term. I saw a list of dubious things he's perpetrated in his first 100 days, 100 things, in fact. It occurred to me, that if a Republican had done any two or three, it would be all over the drive-by media, and they would be calling for his impeachment. But not Hobama. They're so giddy, they're falling all over themselves praising him and trying to kiss his arse. The only good thing is the drive-bys are losing audience, but those who remain will continue to be blissfully ignorant.

I just watched a rerun of that piece of arrogance talking to an audience of fawners in St. Louis. Sounded like he was putting down the tea parties. No surprise there. Also sounded like he thought it was just about health care and social security. Then HO talked about how he was taking a close look at federal spending. Most of the talk at the tea party I attended was around term limits and government spending...and government interference in private business...and government trying to take over health care. I hope we take care of HO with term limits. I can hardly wait.

But, maybe we won't have to wait that long. I just read an article from United States Justice Foundation, and they're still pursuing the birth certificate. Even I commented on that while responding to Ralph's great list of Hobama's 100 kicks of sand in our faces. They brought up an interesting point.

Hell, I have a copy of my birth certificate in my safe deposit box. I also have the original...a big thing, more like a book. According to the USJF article, (it's actually a request for financial help to continue chasing this birth certificate thing) HObama's lawyers have spent $800,000.00 fighting the release of his birth certificate, instead of simply producing it. Makes one wonder. Makes Alan Keyes mad. He's helping to push USJF to appeal a California judges decision not to allow HObama's Occidental College records revealed. So, you make think, it's California, what do you expect? California is part of the US, unfortunately. We better care. I think I'll send a couple of bucks to USJF. Maybe they'll find a Constitutional judge.

Makes you wonder where the media is when you need 'em. Oh, yeah. They're in his pocket...or, is he in their's? Hmmm.

Turn 'em out.
