Sotomayor overturned again

Are you kidding me. The Supremes overturned the ruling in the fire fighters case involving Ricci and his fellow testers. The headlines read "White Fire fighters win Supreme court case." The White House said that the ruling shows Sotomayor is not an
activist...right. and I'm not sitting here wanting to throw up.

I understand there were a couple of Hispanics tested, too, but I guess they were white Hispanics. I'll vent more later, and include cap and tax...maybe a little hate crime opinion too.

Obama Care--Healthcare On one can afford...except congress

HO cares about one thing...his own sorry ass, and getting re-elected. Well, I guess that's two things. Ever hear the phrase "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help..."? Ever wonder where the phrase came from. It came from years and years of being screwed by 'the government'.

And if we just bend over and wait, I can guarantee it(government help)will come again, only it will come harder and cost more than we'll ever be able to repay or recover from...and that includes our children and grandchildren.

HO claims there's no reason to fear government run health care. In fact, he keeps pushing this government plan as an option. How many of you think it will be an option. Another guarantee...it will be set up to run any private care out of business, leaving only the government run version. Any one who doubts this, needs a major transplant...but where to go for it? Two prime examples of government run healthcare--medicade, and medicare. Both gazillions in the hole.

Since I started this a couple of days ago, I just read an account of John Conyers' wife having pled guilty to bribery charges, but he had no knowledge of her involvement. Uh huh. And there was the obligatory statement from someone as to whether Detroit would re-elect him to congress...heh, heh. You kidding me? Hell, his wife will be re-elected to the council, even if she is serving time, which I will be flabbergasted if that happens.

Going to post.

Another great reason not to vote for any incumbent.

God's Blessings

God's blessed America for over 200 years. But at the rate we're going, if we keep kicking God out of places, our blessings may come to a screeching halt.

I was just reading an interesting article by Peter Heck, a guest columnist on onenewsnow.com. I found it interesting, not only because of the subject matter, but I had a similar discussion with a friend at the coffee shop this morning.

We just happened to get into a discussion of God, and beliefs or non-beliefs. A little background from my point of view...my dad was a Baptist minister. Not just Baptist, but Freewill Baptist. Pretty hard core. I've always believed in God, without having to have any particular reason. I guess it was faith. My friend said he believes, too...sort of. He thinks there is something out there. We both had something of a belief in evolution.

He, because he wasn't totally convinced of the creation, I, because I don't see why evolution couldn't be a part of the evolution. On the other hand, a God who can create the universe and everything in it, can certainly create a man and woman and all the life on earth, without having to wait a few million years to see how His creation looked.

When HO declared that the US was no longer a Christian nation, that was just further proof to me that we had made a huge mistake in putting his sorry ass in office. I know that's not a very christian view of him, but it is certainly my view. Like I've said before, I'm not a compassionate conservative. Not even close.

According to Heck's article, HO said not long ago:"Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of non-believers." I guess that's the view from a 'community organizers point of view.' You know, let them all in and let 'em vote...several times, if they vote the right way, and they will vote the right way, because look at all the crap we promised, and they believe we can deliver. Reminds me of my advertising days, when a printer would promise the moon, and never deliver. Finally quit using them and moved to someone I could trust to tell the truth, and deliver.

We really need to send HO back to Chicago, where he will be among more of his kind. I'm pretty sure he's not comfortable around Christians...not many muslims are. And, although I know most of the muslims are "peace loving souls," I just can't quite trust 'em. I'm too much of an infidel.

As Mr. Heck said: [Even Benjamin Franklin, commonly regarded as the least religious of all the Founding Fathers said, "History will afford the frequent opportunities of showing the excellency of the Christian religion above all others." If those words were uttered in our politically correct country today, whoever spoke them would be regarded as a narrow-minded, right-wing bigot.]

So, all things being equal, (when did that last happen?)I'll side with the 82-85% of the US who still thinks we're a Christian nation. HO can move to Iran...please. I just realized that in the US, 85 to 15 is equal!;~)

Vote for new blood.

Men of Mt. Suribachi remembered

Haven't posted lately. Missed the weekend of D-Day. Did watch a lot of film on the invasion, and I'm more impressed and thankful for those of the Greatest Generation than ever. My dad was one of them, and I found out new news of him over the weekend just passed.

Meeting with a few of my siblings in NC, I was informed that he was indeed in Japan for the occupation. They reminded me of the kimono he had brought Mom. I had always thought he had been sailing for the island, and turned around when they heard the war was over, but again, I was wrong. He did eventually return to Seattle, where he was formally and honorably discharged at Ft. Lewis. A few years ago, I tried to run down the photographer who had shot a picture of his ship, with all the soldiers waving while they docked. We have a copy, with my dad circled, but it is old and cracked, and I was hoping to get a new print. I was unable to find the photographer and had no luck trying to go through the department of records at Ft. Lewis.

I may have mentioned this before, but one of the regulars at my coffee shop is a Marine who served on Mt. Suribachi. Actually, I'm not sure he was at the point of the flag raising, but he was at Iwo Jima. He still gets the Marine magazine, and brings every issue to Christy's for the rest of us to read...after he's finished it. It's an absolute pleasure to know Mr. Kelly. Unfortunately, he's contracted cancer, but he's not slowing down. I guess eventually, he'll have to.

Occasionally, I listen to the blatherings of this disgusting piece of crap who's now serving as lier-in-chief, and it makes me want to throw up. The arrogance of HO, thinking his little teleprompter performance actually had anything to do with the vote in Iran! And, actually, I lied. I never listen to HO. If anything, I may read some of the crap he spews, but I never, never listen to him. I'm so impressed by those of you who can do that...and thankful, too. Keep up the good work. I'm glad there are stronger souls than I.

I read an interview on newsmax.com, by Ronald Kessler, of Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, about how many Jews are concerned over the way HO is leaning toward the Palestinians, and Arabs. What I don't understand, is why the Jewish vote almost always goes to the dems anyway. I really don't.

According to the newsmax.com article, reaction to the HO speech in Cairo is one of great concern. Jewish reaction on the right is that HO is breaking away from the long lasting close relationship between Israel and the U.S. Others, more supportive of HO, are just surprised and dismayed over the speech. Apparently, most of these opinions among the Jewish leadership, is staying with the leadership, and not leaking out. Why?

I have good friends who are Jewish, and I try to figure out why they almost always vote democrat. They aren't even sure themselves. It blows my mind. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you...that's reversed, of course.

Hoenlein was also disturbed that HO said we had seven million muslims, when it's more like 2.35 million, according to a Pew Research Center report. I've even heard the figure as under 2.0 million, but who's counting? ACORN? That's probably where HO's getting his numbers...and after the next census, with ACORN's help, that figure may be 15 million. Would that put them ahead of the Hispanics?

HO did admit to the Halocaust, but then he went right into his usual "on the other hand" and said "it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people — Muslims and Christians — have suffered in pursuit of a homeland."

Mr. Hoenlein reminded Mr. Kessler of the numerous times the Palestinians have been offered practically everything they sought, only to have them turn it down. He said: "The problem really is not what Israel does, it’s that Israel is," Hoenlein says. "And they’re not ready to accept the existence of the Jewish state."

Mr. Hoenlein told Mr. Kessler that the Jews are very concerned about HO. Imagine that. So am I. The article reminded me that HO had been over there twice, without visiting Israel. Wonder why?

I hope you haven't read Mr. Kessler's article, but it's worth going to newsmax.com and reading it. It was eye-opening, not only by what Mr. Hoenlein said, but how he said it. I know these guys are in their positions because they are able to reign in their tempers and remain civil. I guess I should be thankful for diplomats. Otherwise, we might need a bigger military!

Out with incumbents!

Land of the Free?

Last evening, I turned to CNSnews.com, for their latest offering. I couldn't believe even the headlines. I couldn't believe they were talking about things going on in our once great country. From the HO admin saying the bank bailout gave them the right to take over GM also, to Pelosi saying the US should aid the UN population fund, despite its involvement with China, where abortion is a form of population control.

Then I heard some of the morning coffee brigade talking about HO's speeches to the muslim world this morning. I can't listen to him...my blood pressure won't allow it. I just turned on Rush. I do better with his explanation and opinions...which are similar to mine, but much more reserved, if you know what I mean.

Frankly, I think HO is a usurper to the office. I don't think he's a citizen in the first place, and in the second, I believe he's a muslim. The l/c is on purpose. When they can convince me they don't want me and my Jewish friends dead, maybe I'll use the big M. Meanwhile, I remain an infidel.

I just saw where the Republicans do have a chance against the Sotomayor confirmation. I read a rule on the Center for Individual Freedom's e-mail that if the seven Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee stick together, they can block that nomination. According to the CFIF.org article: " Senate Judiciary Committee Rule IV states, "... debate shall be terminated if the motion to bring the matter to a vote without further debate passes with ten votes in the affirmative, one of which must be cast by the minority." [Emphasis Mine](CFIF)

That means if the seven senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee (Jeff Sessions, Orrin Hatch, Charles Grassley, Jon Kyl, Lindsey Graham, John Cornyn and Tom Coburn) stand together, they can prevent Judge Sotomayor’s confirmation from being rammed though the Senate by the liberal majority."

I said in a recent post that Sotomayor is not a judge, not in the constitutional sense...she's an activist. CFIF.org said later on in the same article, that if Sotomayor wants to make policy, she should run for congress...but I guess that would be too hard. She would have to campaign and win donations, and she might even come up against somebody with balls or brains. Let's hope those seven senators on the Judicial Committee have both.

Come on, 2010!

Democrats--Out of Context

Have you ever noticed, how much stuff surrounding democrats is out of context? Remember Howard the Scream Dean? Now, it seems that the racist comment Sotomayor uttered, if viewed in "context" isn't so bad after all. Of course, Dean had not read the 'context' of her comment, but when did that ever matter to a democRAT? This was reported on CNSnews.com.

I did read the entire CNSnew.com story, which delved into the 'context.' It seems to me that the criticism stands.

There's been a lot of talk lately about closing gitmo and the so-called torture done there and at Abu Ghraib. I just read a forwarded e-mail from a former Vietnam POW, who was tortured and wrote about it. He sent a copy of his book, "Duty, Honor, Country" to Sean Hannity to use as ammo on his show. I don't know if Hannity used it, but I bet he did. The writer, Bud Day, was shot down over north Vietnam and captured. Appaently, he was at the Hanoi Hilton the same time as McCain. Sounds like his book would put into perspective, the pseudo tortures done at gitmo and Abu Ghraib. I mean, really, women's panties on a man's head? I've never met a man who would be bothered by that...well, that may depend on the woman. But it wouldn't be torture.

BTW, Bud Day can be looked up on wikipedia, and probably amazon.com for his book.

Back to Sotomayor...or her comment. Read an interesting article by Thomas Sowell on GOPUSA.com. He titled it "Out of Context" and had some very interesting things to say, of course, and he said them well, including : "The real question is whether the Republican Senators have the guts to alert the public to the dangers of putting this kind of judge on the highest court in the land, so that they will at least have some chance of stopping the next one that comes along." He also commented that when the dems and talking heads start running out of arguments on an issue like this, they always resort to "out of context" as a last ditch effort.

Let's forget out of context.

Let's put em out of office.
